I’m Rakesh Mishra. I’m neither famous nor coming from the rich family background. Born in a poor financial conditions, nothing came easily to me and finally “Stretching Beyond Comfort Zone” became the mantra of my life. Never stayed more than 5 years in one career as life is too short to stick one place for entire life. After traveling and visiting more than 25 countries, finally since 1999 as an IT consultant settled in Canada with my family. Always curious to learn and share something new and creative with the family and friends. Since 2010, spent lots of time on the internet and social media and reach to the conclusion that “TODAY IS THE BEST TIME EVER IN HUMAN RACE TO DO SOMETHING CREATIVE” and started doing courses on different softwares, tools and technologies which can help to share my knowledge and experience with our fellow friends and close ones to help them in their lives and in the process it can become permanent source for extra earnings as well. In short “Monetize your knowledge and experience using the internet and social media” is my current obsession.
I don’t know where to start my story and its long and hopefully will be liked by you, and that is the reason I started this website to share the lessons I learned which helped me to retire (I would say semi-retire)at the age of 45. At a very early age in life in that little village of “Jagna Khera” in Uttar Pradesh province of India, developed obsession for learning English and had a dream that one day I will deliver the speech in English to share my stories and experience in foreign land and people will able to understand me and finally on June 16th 2014, I delivered my very first professional speech in Canada and that was my happiest moment in life and my dream come true.

MY DREAM SPEECH
Finally on June 16th, 2014, the dream come true and I delivered my very first speech in front of professional speakers and the great audience. Thanks to Downsview Toastmasters and especially my mentor Mr. Earl Tucker to help me out to achieve my dream. Even today my mentor Mr. Earl says that in early days of my Toastmasters, the only thing he liked in my speeches , my enthusiasm otherwise he did not understand anything.
I had been married to my first wife Shilpa for 7 years (2001 -2007) who passed away during our second childbirth and she gave two lovely sons (Devansh born 2004 and Anuj born 2007). I got remarried in 2010 with my wife Rinke who gave birth to our son Nicket in 2015. My middle son Anuj lives in India with his grandparents. I live with my wife Rinke and sons Devansh and Nicket here in Richmond Hill CANADA.In my free time, I play badminton, meditation, gym, swimming, help my wife to get exposure to the internet to start an online business and spend time with children on their recreational activities and studies.
MY AH-HA MOMENT
My ah-ha moment came in 2008 when movie Slumdog Millionaire released and got 8 oscars. My curiosity forced me to watch that movie and realized that my own life story resembles quite similar and then started reading and listening great motivator like Les Brown , Tony Robbins , Zig Ziglar and Rene Godefroy and realized that I can build another career just by share my own life journey to audience but English language and public speaking still was my biggest fear which also got resolved when one day I saw an advertisement for Toastmasters and Joined it. In just matter of one year Toastmasters helped me to build my confidence and often the title of my speech is “Meet Real Slumdog Millionaire” and I found my true calling to share my stories to inspire and motivate the audience.
To share my stories and experience to the world and specially to 22 million Indians (called NRIs) living outside of India in 205 countries around the Globe and deliver at least one speech live to all those 205 countries before my last breath.
Often when I’m am with my friends and involved in discussions I get really fired up to share my lessons learned which helped to so many friends in their career and family matters. They often used to say that whenever I get excited feels like I’m on fire and that frequent remarks gave me a clue to start something using the internet where reach goes to global and that made me to buy my personal domain www.rakeshmishraonfire.com. Primarily I will be launching my podcast through this website where I will be creating my solo podcast shows and also taking interviews from the success stories and possibly one success story from those 205 countries where NRIs live. I build my website on my own on WordPress platform and Appendipity Podcast Pro theme which run on Genesis Framework.
